Satoshi Nonce Review

Satoshi Nonce is a distinctive bitcoin betting site that allows players to bet on blockchain nonce numbers. It is advertised as “the fairest and most transparent game ever.” We can’t argue with this assertion. After all, the game’s concept is really compelling, especially for those who want to make sure that the BTC gambling sites they choose are free from any form of cheating.

Satoshi Nonce is like a lottery game but instead of drawing lots or getting the number results through scrambled numbered balls, the game uses blockchain nonce numbers. It’s an excellent idea for a BTC gambling site. The results really bound to be fair. Although the game is simple and the site looks a little dated, you get a game that is provably fair and enjoyable at the same time.

Simply put, a blockchain nonce is a unique random  number that is used by miners to create a new valid block of the bitcoin blockchain. This number cannot be predicted. It does not follow a pattern. As such, it is a good number to place bets on. There is no possibility for cheating as the game is as secure and trustworthy as the bitcoin system you will be using to place bets and earn prizes.

No Account Registration Required

At Satoshi Nonce, signing up for an account is unnecessary. If you can access the site, you can immediately proceed to playing. You just need to have your bitcoin wallet.

Since account registration is not necessary, there is no account dashboard to discuss in this Satoshi Nonce review. There is no account to maintain. If you need to review the bets you have made, just go to the Bets tab. You can also check the last 10 winning nonces by clicking on the Winning Nonces button at the bottom part of the site. There is nothing you need to secure in this site except for your bitcoin wallet.

The Satoshi Nonce Games

Satoshi Nonce features two games. These are Game 0-9 and Game 00-99. These are all games that rely on blockchain nonce numbers for their results.

In Game 0-9, you need to pick a number from 0 to 9 by typing the number on the field in the game’s interface or by using the number slider or the + and – buttons at the opposite tips of the number slider.  You then have to choose your bet: Over or Under. The payouts (the multipliers in the Over and Under buttons), by the way, automatically adjust as you choose a number for the game. As you click your bet, a modal window will then appear, indicating the bitcoin wallet address to where you should send your bet. Your bet should be at least 0.001 BTC and a maximum of 0.1 BTC. A network fee of 0.0001 BTC will be charged for the transaction.

You have the option to go to the Bets tab to find your bet and optionally put a mark (star) on it.

After sending your bet to the address indicated, you then have to wait for the transaction to have 1 confirmation. Obviously, you need to wait for the confirmation since the result of the game will be based on the transaction’s blockchain nonce number. The result will be based on the last digit of the nonce number of the block where the bet you sent is included.

Payout will be immediate. It is made after 1 confirmation.

The other game on Satoshi Nonce, Game 00-99, is similar to Game 0-9. The minimum and maximum bet amounts are the same.  The process of playing is likewise identical. However, it is different in the betting aspect. Instead of choosing a number and betting Over or Under, you will have to bet on a specific number or a specific number set. Yes, there are two ways to bet here.

If you bet on a specific number, your payout is set at 98.00x of your bet amount. If you bet on a number set, the payout is at 19.600x of your bet amount. Obviously, the prize for the specific number bet (00-99) is higher because your probability of picking the right number is pegged at 1/100, whereas for the number set betting, you only have to choose from 20 sets or a probability of 1/20. The numbers you can bet on for the number set betting on Game 00-99 are grouped into 20 “numbers” (5 numbers in every “number”). These numbers are 00-04, 05-09, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, etcetera.

To bet on a specific number (00-99), you will use the number slider and click on the red button that indicates the number you have chosen to place your bet. To bet on a number set, just go to the lower portion of the game interface and click on the number set you want to bet on.

Again, just like in Game 0-9, you need to have 1 confirmation after sending your bet to the bitcoin wallet address indicated on the game. The game result will be based on the last 2 digits

If you win, your prize will be immediately sent to you through the same bitcoin wallet address you used for sending your bet.

IMPORTANT: You cannot use shared wallets to play on Satoshi Nonce. You can’t also use Coinbase, Bitstamp, BTC-e wallets, and other kinds of wallets that don’t give you control over your bitcoin keys.

Game Interface

The Satoshi Nonce game interface is extremely intuitive. You have to be severely unintelligent to be incapable of figuring out how it works. Still, if you encounter some confusion, you can just click on the Tutorial button at the bottom part of the site to view the clearly laid out game instructions.

The game interface for the mobile version notably looks great and does not appear “dated-looking” as that of the desktop version.

Satoshi Nonce Game Software, Fairness, and House Edge

We would say Satoshi Nonce does not use any gaming software except perhaps for the software that runs the website and enables the interaction between the player and the Satoshi Nonce site owners. There is no Random Number Generator here and no software for maintaining a player account. The game software here is basically just the software for the bitcoin wallet. The game results are determined through the bitcoin block confirmation.

Is Satoshi Nonce a provably fair game? We can state in this Satoshi Nonce review that it’s arguably more provably fair than any of the other provably fair casinos we have reviewed here. What could be fairer and more “provable” than a game that bases its results on numbers generated the bitcoin system? The only possible problem is if Satoshi Nonce’s owners refuse to send the prize they should be paying. So far, we have not heard of major or serious complaints regarding this.

Instructions for verifying the fairness of the game results are presented on the site. You will have to check blockchain.info for the block number where the bet transaction was included.

The declared house edge on Satoshi Nonce is 2% for both Game 0-9 and Game 00-99.

Currencies, Deposits, Withdrawals, Betting System, Fees, and Bitcoin Faucet

Satoshi Nonce only uses bitcoins for the games. The bitcoins are presented in the BTC denomination on the site so be ready to encounter a lot of decimal points.

There are no deposits on this site. You can’t do a bulk bitcoin transfer here to be stored in some account associated with you (as the player), and used as your betting fund later on. Instead, you will be sending bitcoins to a specific address every time you play or every time you place a bet. As mentioned earlier, a network fee of 0.0001 BTC is charged every time a bet is made. You need to add this fee with the bet you send.

Since there are no deposits, there are also no withdrawals on Satoshi Nonce. If you win, your prizes are immediately sent to you after the result of the game has been determined.

Bets can only be considered valid if they are within the minimum and maximum bet amounts set on the site (0.001 BTC to 0.1 BTC). Bets that are not within this range are considered invalid. Fortunately, invalid bets are not forfeited. They will be returned to your bitcoin wallet address after 6 confirmations. If you want to save on transaction fees, you can actually do multiple bets or bets for multiple numbers on the same block.

Unfortunately, Satoshi Nonce does not have a free bitcoin faucet. It also does not have a Demo or Play for Fun mode. You really need to send bitcoins to the address indicated on the game to be able to play. Hence, we cannot consider this site a free bitcoin casino.

Bonuses and Promotions

Satoshi Nonce does not offer a welcome or first deposit deposit bonus, let alone a reload bonus. It also does not have a no deposit bonus scheme, affiliate program, and VIP programs and rewards.

The Satoshi Nonce Terms & Conditions clearly states that players in the United States and US territories are not allowed to use the site.
