BetDNA Review

BetDNA is a gambling site that features sports betting and online casino games. It comes with an attractive website and credibly presented online gambling opportunities. It also supports bitcoin betting.

This gambling site has been in the online gaming scene since 2007. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Yellow Sportz Overseas Limited, a company based in Ibirapita, Montevideo, Uruguay. The different casino games and sports betting opportunities being offered by this site look really enticing. It is mobile-friendly and also offers a good number of bonuses and promotions.

However, BetDNA is far from perfect. There are some important things you need to know about it before you decide on signing up with it. Get to know these details by reading further into our comprehensive BetDNA review.

Account Registration

To sign up for a BetDNA account, you need to fill out a registration form that requires the usual basic details. The form is longer than the usual bitcoin betting sites that allows you to complete a registration in under 15 seconds. Still, you should be able to register for an account in a minute or so. There is no email verification required. You will just get an email notification regarding the successful account registration (we got ours some minutes after we signed up for an account and logged in).

BetDNA accepts only one account for every IP address. Your IP address is being examined by the BetDNA system. You can no longer register for another account using the same computer or network if an account has already been associated with your IP address.

Account Dashboard

Interestingly, BetDNA does not have a profile page or a full-fledged account dashboard. What it has is just the Cashier page. When making a deposit, you will be asked if you will be depositing for the sports section or the casino section. There are separate fund balances for the sports betting and casino games. It’s not the usual Cashier interface you may have encountered with other online casinos. Here, you will have to go through dialog boxes. We’re not really fond of it since it appears to make the process longer but we understand that the this may have been deemed necessary since it’s not a typical cashier or deposit/withdrawal interface.

The Games on BetDNA

BetDNA supposedly has a sportsbook that features various sports games and events. At the time we did this BetDNA review, though, the software was still being updated. Hence, we can’t give an updated evaluation on it. The sports betting section was blank at the time we did this review.

However, based on the texts presented on the site, sports betting on BetDNA covers more than 13,000 live betting matches every month. It includes NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and NCAA events. The sports featured on the site include include baseball rugby, soccer, tennis, volleyball, handball, boxing,. football, boxing, table tennis,  badminton, and futsal. BetDNA also provides live sports betting.

UPDATE: After the software update, the sports betting section showed an interface that is still familiar and intuitive. It’s still mostly similar to what most bitcoin sportsbook interfaces look like. There’s the sports types and lists on the left column, the game or event details in the center, and the bet slip on the right. However, the bet slip was still not functional, as shown in the screenshot above, at the time we checked to update this review.

When it comes to the casino games, it took us some time to see the real Casino page. The Casino link on the homepage appears to be incorrect. We had to go over the indexed pages of the site to find the correct URL for the casino section.

There were 404 games at the time we did this review. These include 273 standard slot games, 61 3D slots, 38 video poker games, 25 table games, and 7 specialty games. The collection of table games on the site include several variants of blackjack, roulette, poker, baccarat, and craps. The specialty games include different kinds of keno games as well as scratch cards and a virtual racebook. We stumbled upon a thumbnail for live dealer games while doing this BetDNA review but these live games were still unavailable, labeled as “coming soon.”

The games load as pop-ups. Game loading time is relatively fast for some while it’s average for others. Game graphics are mediocre to good. Some look better than others but all of them are still in 4:3 aspect ratio, which does not make optimum use of the screens of most modern devices.

BetDNA’s games don’t come with Play for Fun or Demo versions. You really need to make a deposit before you can play. As such, we can’t consider this a free bitcoin casino.

BetDNA Game Software, and Fairness

The games on BetDNA are supplied by multiple online casino software providers. These providers are BetSoft, Playtech, Bee Games, Novomatic, Bee Games, and NetEnt. The games are not provably fair but we are not inclined to make criticisms regarding this in this BitDNA review since most of the online casino software providers mentioned are known to be reliable and fair.

BetDNA Is Mobile-Friendly

BetDNA is a mobile-friendly gambling site. If you load it on a mobile browser, it automatically redirects to its mobile version (m.betdna.com), which is optimized for mobile navigation and playing. The site does not have Android, iOS, or Windows mobile apps but the mobile-friendly site suffices in providing a good bitcoin mobile casino experience.

Currencies, Deposits, and Withdrawals

BetDNA uses only two currencies: US dollar (USD) and euro (EUR). However, since there are several deposit methods supported, you can make a deposit in other fiat currencies and in bitcoins.

Deposits can be made through credit and debit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Diner’s Club), Skrill, EntroPay virtual credit card, bank wire transfers, deposit by phone, Neteller, and of course bitcoin (via Neteller). EZ Voucher deposits are also supported. All of the details regarding the minimum and maximum deposit amounts for the different deposit methods are readily presented in the Deposit interface.

All deposits need to be wagered once before they can be withdrawn. For the uninitiated or those who may have forgotten what this means, this means that you can’t just make a deposit and withdraw your deposit without using it to play.

We initially thought that BetDNA does not support bitcoin deposits since we could not find the pertinent details in its website. There’s no search engine indexed page of the BetDNA website that provides details regarding the bitcoin deposits. We only learned about it after signing up for an account and going over the Cashier page.

When it comes to withdrawals, BetDNA has a different setup as compared to most other bitcoin betting sites. If you want to make a withdrawal, you need to request for it through the Support page. You will have to open a support ticket addressed to the Accounting department. We don’t find this setup advantageous.

Bonuses, Promotions, Player Rewards, and Affiliate Program

The different bonuses and promotions offered on BetDNA can be summarized as follows:

• 200% Sign Up Bonus. This is not a 200% bulk bonus you can get with either the casino or sports section. It’s actually a 100% sign up bonus for the Casino section and another 100% for the Sports section. The wagering requirement for the sports bonus is 10x of the sum of the deposit and the bonus, while it is 60x for the casino bonus.
• Up to 40% Free Play* Bonus for Every Deposit. This can be considered the reload bonus, which is applicable to all instances of deposits. Get 10% free play for deposits from 100 USD to 299 USD, 20% for 300 USD to 499 USD, 30% for 500 USD to 999 USD, and 40% for deposits amounting 1,000 USD or more. The rollover or wagering requirements are 4x, 5x, 7x, and 8x respectively.
• Up to 25 USD Worth of Free Play* for the First Live In-Play Bet Made. If you place your first ever bet in live in-play and you lose, you can get back up to 25 USD of the amount you wagered in the form of free play. Wagering requirement is 10x.
• Up to 50 USD Worth of Free Play* for the First Mobile Bet. This is similar to the Live In-Play Free Play Bonus but is applicable to the mobile version of the site.

*Free Play bonuses are only allowed in the following sports: football, basketball, MLB, NHL, cricket, Premier League soccer, boxing, UFC, and tennis.

BetDNA does not have VIP programs and rewards but it has an affiliate program that offers up to 35% in revenue share. You need to do a separate account signup to participate in this affiliate program.

Country Restrictions, Anonymity, and Site Languages

BetDNA is a US-accepted bitcoin casino and sportsbook. However, it imposes some country restrictions. Players from Nigeria, Malta, Morocco, Costa Rica, Indonesia, Egypt, Ukraine, Pakistan, Serbia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Ghana, Morocco, and Ukraine are not allowed to play for real money on the site.

If anonymity matters to you, here’s some sad news. BetDNA does not support anonymous online gambling. Even if you play exclusively using bitcoins, BetDNA does not provide the perks of an anonymous bitcoin casino. The site’s Terms and Conditions include a provision that requires players to submit a copy of their ID to verify the information on their BetDNA account after they have completed their rollover/playthrough/wagering requirement.

Although BetDNA is meant to serve players in different parts of the world, the site is stuck with only an English language version. There’s a button (UK flag) on top of the site that appears to be a language toggle but it does not show other language options.

Live chat support can be accessed through the not-so-easy-to-notice Live Chat button on upper right corner of the site or through the Live Chat button in the Support page.

As stated on the BetDNA website, 24/7 customer support can be expected. However, the live chat support was unavailable (“Our agents are not available at the moment”) at the time we did this BetDNA review.

BetDNA, moreover, presents links to its supposed Facebook and Google+ accounts but the URLs added are incorrect. We tried searching for these social media pages but it appears they don’t exist. What we found was just the BetDNA Twitter page.

BetDNA License, Regulation, Security, and Issues

BetDNA is a licensed online gambling operation. Since it accepts bitcoin deposits, we can also say it’s a licensed bitcoin casino. Playing on BetDNA is presumed to mean that the player agrees that if there are disputes, they will be under the jurisdiction of Costa Rican law. Wagers and other transactions are to be treated as if they originate from San Jose, Costa Rica.

The site employs 256-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) digital encryption to protect accounts and transactions. The site is reasonably secure. We like that we had to be asked for our password every once in a while especially when playing around at the Cashier page. Additionally, BetDNA uses the Doughflow system for its Cashier functions to ensure hassle-free and secure transactions.

Despite being a licensed and relatively secure gambling site, we can’t easily dismiss the complaints and concerns raised by players on BetDNA. Some reviews even blacklist the site. There are a few unfavorable pieces about it you can easily find online. In fact, while searching for information as to whether or not BetDNA accepts bitcoins, we stumbled upon articles about outstanding payout complaints against BetDNA.

The good thing, though, is that we did not find significant complaints about BetDNA’s game system being rigged or unreliable. If you are interested to give BetDNA a try, we will not advise you to do otherwise but consider betting with small amounts first to ascertain that you can really get payouts promptly.
