Satoshi Mines is a bitcoin-only online minesweeper game that brags of offering better odds as compared to other mine games on the web. It is a provably fair game that is also mobile-friendly. It’s a casual game that is great to play on mobile devices. We hate to echo what SatoshiMines is writing on its website but we can’t help but agree that it’s indeed a “fun game to play on your commute or during boring business meetings.”
What’s great about Satoshi Mines is that it’s very easy to play and does not require a lot of time. Play it anytime you get bored and get the chance to win bitcoins along the way. The minimum bet is also very low that you can enjoy several games with the meager balance you have on your account.
Satoshi Mines is a simple but highly enjoyable game but it’s not perfect. There are things you need to know first before you decide to choose it as your preferred online bitcoin minesweeper game. Go over our SatoshiMines review to learn more about this online bitcoin gambling site. There might be things you won’t be able to appreciate or quickly realize by simply going over Satoshi Mines’ simple website.
Account Registration
Satoshi Mines does not require players to sign up for an account. By clicking on the green Play button, you will be redirected to a page with a unique URL. This URL will serve as your login method. You need to save and secure it because it’s the only way through which you can return to your account.
You can add a Display Name so Satoshi Mines will be able to properly use your name when referring to you. You can also enable hotkeys to make it easier playing on the site. Additionally, you can set an account password so you can be sure that nobody will try doing things on your account, especially withdrawing your deposits and winnings, in case somebody gets to find out what your unique URL is. You can do all of these, by the way, by clicking on the Your Account link on the upper right corner of the page.
Unfortunately, there is no option to set up a traditional account wherein you can have a username and password. You would really have to make do with the system of bookmarking your unique URL and saving it on your notes or email, or using a synched web browser so you can quickly load your Satoshi Mines account.
Account Dashboard / User Interface
Satoshi Mines has a very simple user interface. It’s impossible not to quickly figure out how this bitcoin minesweeper site works. The Deposit and Withdrawal interface makes use of a modal window with javascript tabs. It’s a generally highly responsive user interface. You won’t find animations here so it’s expectedly snappy. Not many may like the high-contrast color scheme, though. It may be harsh on the eyes for some. The red texts may not be easily legible especially on mobile devices with lower display resolutions.
The Satoshi Mines Game
Satoshi Mines is unlike the good ol’ Windows Minesweeper game. There are no numbers involved. It’s mostly a game of chance. You just click on the cells, proceed to the next click if you land on a green tile, and face Game Over if you land on the red/mine tile.
This minesweeper game only has 25 cells, forming a square with five cells on all sides. All games use this 25-cell board or minefield if you prefer calling it that way. Just like in the usual minesweeper game, the goal is to uncover as many green cells without stepping on red ones or the mines. Of course, you get a higher prize for uncovering more green tiles.
You can set how many mines to have on the minefield. You have the option to set 1, 3, 5, or 24 mines through the buttons below the field where you enter your bet amount.
The “NEXT” number is the value of the next green tile you can uncover. Your prize will be the accumulated value of all tiles you uncovered plus your bet amount. If you step on a mine, though, you will lose all of the value you accumulated so far. You really need to completely uncover all the green non-mine tiles so you can win your prize.
By the way, we mentioned that the Satoshi Mines user interface is mostly snappy but if you play the game, you may notice that there’s a few seconds before the tile you click gets revealed. This is not a responsiveness issue, though. We reckon that it’s just the way the game is designed. You need to have that few seconds of waiting time before the tile color is revealed. After all, it wouldn’t be that exciting if the tile color is quickly revealed at the very instance you click on it.
Satoshi Mines Game Software and Fairness
The Satoshi Mines website does not mention anything about its software, whether or not it’s something but we think it’s a proprietary game system. It’s a provably fair game system that makes use of Game Hashes and Secrets to enable fairness provability. These hashes and secrets are presented in the Live Satoshi Mines Games table on the homepage (as shown below). Of course, they have already been established beforehand and are not tampered with.

The game hashes are determined by choosing three out of the 25 tiles of the game as mines. These 3 tiles are represented by numbers, from 1 to 25 They are then paired with a random string generated by the server and consequently hashed using SHA256. The hash function is shown to the player before the first tile is chosen.
To validate whether or not the game is really fair (or not manipulated), Satoshi Mines provides a link to an unaffiliated Online SHA256 Lookup tool. You just have to copy the text you want to hash on the appropriate field on this SHA256 hash lookup tool.
SatoshiMines Is Mobile-Friendly
SatoshiMines has a mobile-friendly website which adequately makes for its lack of a mobile app for playing. This mobile site fits perfectly on all mobile screen sizes. It’s not a separate mobile version but the result of having a responsive web design. It works snappily although we wouldn’t say notably since this game is not really resource-intensive. Basically, what you see on a mobile device is similar to what can be seen on the desktop except for the box that indicates minimum and maximum bets.
Currencies Accepted, Deposit and Withdrawal Methods, Fees, and Betting Details
As mentioned, Satoshi Mines is a bitcoin-only gambling site. The only currency accepted is bitcoins. It is expressed as “Ƀ” on the site but in “bit” denomination. A bit is equivalent to 1/1,000,000 Ƀ.
All kinds of bitcoin wallets can be used on Satoshi Mines, including web wallets such as Blockchain.info, BIPS, and Coinbase. Satoshi Mines readily provides links for Blocktrail, Blockr.io, and Blockchain.info on the Deposit interface. There’s also a QR code to make it easier to do mobile payments.
The minimum bet on Satoshi Mines is 30 bits or Ƀ0.00003 for each round while the maximum bet is Ƀ1 or 1 million bits. We tried betting 1 million bits on the 24-mine game, which theoretically should provide the highest possible prize, but a message was displayed saying that the maximum bet amount for the 24-mine game is only 100,000 bits or .1 Ƀ.
The Satoshi Mines website does not mention anything about transaction fees so we assume there are no fees for making deposits or withdrawals.
When it comes to withdrawals, a minimum withdrawal amount of Ƀ0.000028 or 28 bits is required. Withdrawals are usually instant. You just have to click the Deposit/Withdraw button, click the Withdraw tab (on the modal window that appears), and enter the amount to withdraw and your bitcoin wallet address. It’s important to point out, though, that you need to have at least 3 confirmations for all of your deposit transactions before you can make a withdrawal.
There is no FUN currency or play money on Satoshi Mines. However, you can do a practice game if your account balance is 0. This means that you can enter any bet amount you want (provided it is within the minimum and maximum limits stated earlier) and try playing the game as many times as you want. Naturally, since this is just a practice game, your winnings cannot be withdrawn.
Satoshi Mines Bonuses/Promotions
Unfortunately, Satoshi Mines does not offer bonuses or other forms of promotions. This is not that unexpected, though. Not many single-game gambling sites offer bonuses or promotions comparable to what leading online casinos offer. However, it would have been better if Satoshi Mines has a free bitcoin faucet. The free game being offered does not compare to being able to get free satoshis that can actually result in real withdrawable winnings if you get lucky.
Satoshi Mines, nevertheless, has an affiliate program that offers 10% of the profit made by the player you refer to the site. To take advantage of this affiliate program, just go to the Affiliate page to enter your bitcoin wallet address so you can get your affiliate URL.
Satoshi Mines Player Support
Player support on Satoshi Mines, unfortunately, is only through email. There’s an online email sending form you can find near the bottom part of the Satoshi Mines Help page. We couldn’t find the exact email address Satoshi Mines uses for this player support system. It appears you really need to go to the Help page, go to the bottom part, and use the online email sending form to be able to send an email to Satoshi Mines.
Satoshi Mines Country Restrictions
This online bitcoin gambling site does not mention anything about country restrictions. We are inclined to presume in this SatoshiMines review, though, that the standard two requirements for players apply.
- Players should be at least 18 years old or of legal age.
- Players are expected to be responsible in ascertaining that making online bets on sites like Satoshi Mines is legal in their respective countries.
Considering that Satoshi Mines only uses bitcoins and undertakes deposits and withdrawals through wallet-to-wallet transactions, we think that everyone is welcome to play on this site, unless there are specific legal impediments for doing so. Satoshi Mines does not ask for proofs of identification from players so it’s possible that everyone is welcome to play on this site.
Satoshi Mines License and Regulation
Again, there is nothing on the Satoshi Mines website that provides details about its license and the authority that regulates it. It is always an advantage for an online gambling site to be able to show that it is licensed and regulated. However, we are not inclined to consider this as a major negative attribute in this Satoshi Mines review because of the fact that its game is clearly provably fair. We also have not encountered significant complaints about this bitcoin gambling site.
Some More Information
With just a very few pages, it shouldn’t be difficult familiarizing with Satoshi Mines. However, we want to highlight the Help page in this Satoshi Mines review. This page provides answers to frequently asked questions as well as information about how Satoshi Mines is provably fair. It is also where you can find the email sending online form. The Help page is the only guide you have to playing at Satoshi Mines. There’s no live chat so you really have to read what’s on this page. There is no Terms and Conditions page on Satoshi Mines and no social media links for this gambling site. Well, just make do with the Help page and we guarantee that you will know everything you need to know by skimming through it.

So I have been playing Satoshi mines for about 2 months now taking breaks time to time. I developed a method and got from $50 to $389 in two days. That method got shattered because out of the 25 tiles where the mine could have been, it ended up in the same place. Not once, not twice, not even three times, but FOUR times in a row. The idea was to get three mines in a row and then go ALL in on that same fourth tile because the chances of the mine being in the same place four times in a row is almost zero…curious on someones thoughts on this
It’s rigged bro 🙂 I have a method in which I don’t lose easily… I won a lot and the “cash out” button had a problem when I increased my bet, together with my bet amount and my winnings everything disappeared. Someone/a software is running with the game for them to profit not for you to profit. They knew I will certainly WIN the next bet so they got annoyed and said their cash out button is not working. ^^ Big SCAM!!!
It’s a fact that the game is a cheat. There is no provably to it. I also found a way to beat the game. As soon as I started to win, the game would have a problem with the cash out button. It would sit there in a spin mode and then read I must have a bad connection. I would close out the game, come back and it would take my earnings. Also, when I would cash out, it would pay me out, but would take from my bits I had left depending on how much I won. The game is is programmed to take your money. So pass along the word so people quit getting cheated. I’m going to make a video and show how it cheats and put it on you tube. Hopefully people will get it then.

I’ve used the site for years and am 100% at a net-loss but its a damn fun game to try to cashout when you are ahead.
