DirectBet is a sports betting site that uses a number of cryptocurrencies particularly bitcoins, litecoins, dogecoins, and dash. It claims to be the safest digital currency sportsbook. The sports betting aspect of the site is made more prominent but actually DirectBet also offers casino games. It is not just a sportsbook, live sports betting, and horse racing gambling site. It also features a variety of casino games including poker and blackjack.
There are a number of features that distinguish DirectBet from other similar sites. For one, it does not require deposits. It also welcomes those who are on a roll. Successive and big winners will not be limited with the bets they make. Additionally, there is no need to register for an account. As you load the site, you are automatically treated as a player so an account is automatically generated for you. Moreover, DirectBet has instant automated pay-outs and also features live in-play betting.
DirectBet also has a referral program that allows players to earn 1% of all the bets placed by the players referred. Also, it is possible to negotiate the odds. DirectBet, by the way, uses decimal and American odds formats. This cryptocurrency gambling site claims to offer “all the advantages of a betting exchange without the complicity or liquidity issues.” Also, arbitrage bettors are accommodated in DirectBet.

Registration Not Required
DirectBet does not require players to sign up for accounts. To play, all that needs to be done is to go to the specific game and start playing. The user interface should be easy enough to figure out. There’s a dropdown menu for choosing the specific cryptocurrency to use. There are also fields for entering the bitcoin wallet address to where the winnings are to be sent.
We recommend entering an email address, though, to be able to avail of the VIP rewards.
The DirectBet User Interface
There’s nothing to praise in the aesthetics of DirectBet’s user interface. It looks very basic, bordering on boring. However, it is adequately responsive and functionally good enough. We have not encountered instances when the user interface failed to respond or took a long time to be able to process an action.
What Can be Played on DirectBet?
DirectBet features standard sports betting, live in-game sports betting, Direct Dice, All-In Poker Flips, and online casino games.
The sports betting section covers the typical sports covered by most other sites. These include horse racing, soccer, soccer futures, tennis, American football, baseball basketball, snooker, golf, ice hockey, cricket, Rugby Union, Rugby League, darts, volleyball, boxing, mixed martial arts, cycling, Australian football, motor sport, cycling, handball, and athletics. There are also special events covered such as the Oscars and political events.
The live events betting section is similar to standard sports betting, only that it involves live events wherein the player watches and enjoys the game and places a bet at the same time.
Direct Dice is a provably fair block chain-based dice game.
All-In Poker Flips is also a provably fair block chain-based game. It is a Texas Hold’em Poker betting game wherein a player goes all-in pre-flop with a hand of choice against any hand the player chooses.
Lastly, there’s the Casino games section. We understand that it’s new but we just find it awkward that there’s this casino section but there are also games you would normally label as casino games (Direct Dice and All-In Poker) that are not included in it, and positioned alongside the sports betting games. Perhaps DirectBet needs to do some website reorganization. This does not necessarily make things utterly confusing but it’s annoying.
So what’s inside the Casino games section? There are 16 games available. These are Texas Hold’em, Blackjack, Platinum Lightning, Jacks or Better, European Roulette, Heads &Tails, Book of Pyramids, HI-LO Switch, Baccarat, Aztec Magic, Casino Hold’em, Royalty Derby, Scratch Dice, Fantasy Park, Minesweeper, and Crazy Starter. They feature “For Fun” versions so they can be tried without having to register for an account and without using any bitcoin.
Gaming Platform
We gather that the sports betting, live events betting, Direct Dice, and All-In Poker games are based on software developed in-house by DirectBet. There is no information published on the site in this regard and we can’t find information online about the possibility that the gaming platform is provided by the likes of Net Entertainment, Ezugi, or Coingaming.io.
The Casino games, on the other hand, are from SoftSwiss. These are provably fair games, each having their respective purple button provability widgets as shown below.
Mobile Friendliness
DirectBet does not have mobile apps for Android and iOS. That’s why it’s disappointing to know that its website is not mobile-friendly. What gets loaded on the mobile browser is the same layout and amount of content loaded on desktop browsers.
Multiple Cryptocurrencies Accepted
As already mentioned, DirectBet accepts multiple currencies. The sports betting section only supports 4 cryptocurrencies [bitcoin (BTC), litecoins (LTC), dogecoins (DOGE), and dash (DASH)] while the online casino section accepts up to 6. These are the 4 already accepted on the sports betting section plus clam (CLAM) and DirectBet Coin.
DirectBet’s system for making deposits and withdrawals (payouts) is not similar to what other online casinos have. To play, players don’t need to make deposits. Players just need to pay for the bet. The transactions are from one cryptocurrency wallet to another (similar cryptocurrencies only), from the player’s wallet to DirectBet’s wallet. The same goes for withdrawals. As such, there are no minimum and maximum deposit and withdrawal limits to talk about. There are also no minimum amounts for bets. However, since the bitcoin network usually imposes a fee of 0.0001 BTC for each transfer made, it would be expedient not to make very low bet amounts. For the maximum bet amounts, the figure is indicated in the Bet Status page. Generally, the maximum for most games is around 2 BTC.
DirectBet recommends that players use the official bitcoin wallet version 0.10 or later, since this comes with the feature for setting the priority of the fund transfer. Through this feature, considerably smaller fees will be paid when the transfer priority is set to “Low.”
There may be time when payout transactions (when a winning bet is paid by DirectBet) remain unconfirmed. This is not unusual although it does not happen often. It only happens during busy hours. If you encounter repetitive delays in the confirmation of your payouts, don’t hesitate to contact customer support.
DirectBet’s Negotiable Odds
As mentioned, DirectBet comes with a “negotiable odds” feature. What this feature does is not to allow a player to try to convince DirectBet to lower the odds. What it means is that (once this option is chosen), DirectBet’s betting system will not confirm a bet unless the bet odds are equal to or greater than the minimum odds specified by the player. This is a great feature for automatically finding better odds for the bets made. However, there’s the possibility that the odds will never reach the target a player specifies. In such cases, the bet will be cancelled and refunded. The Negotiable Odds function is fully automated but it is still possible to change the minimum betting odds specified (by going to the Bet Status page) or to cancel the bet altogether, provided that it has not been confirmed yet.
DirectBet Rewards and Promotions
DirecttBet casino have some nice bonuses:
- First deposit bonuse: 300% (!) – Up to 10 Bitcoins
- Sign up bonuse- 30000 Dodge Coins – FREE
- VIP rewards
The VIP rewards system pays “unlimited 10 BTC per month.” Okay, this really sounded weird to us at first and we suspected it’s just some marketing phrase so we had to do some digging. 10 BTC is such a high amount! Apparently, “unlimited 10 BTC per month is not really that achievable and is how it is being described on the site. Based on what is written on the VIP Rewards page of DirectBet, you get to earn 1 loyalty point for each 1 mBTC (0.001 BTC), 0.1 DASH, 0.1 LTC, or 2,000 DOGE bet on sports or all-poker games during a month. You can also earn 1 loyalty point for every 10 mBTC, 1 LTC, 1 DASH, or 20,000 DOGE bet on Direct Dce.
Rewards are then given after accumulating a certain number of loyalty points. The minimum number of loyalty points to accumulate to get a reward is 5,000, which yields 20 mBTC, 2 LTC, 2 DASH, or 40,000 DOGE in rewards (take note that it’s either of these currency rewards, not all of them). The table below shows the amount of rewards you can get after reaching a certain number of loyalty points. You can monitor the number of loyalty points you have so far through the Bet Status page.
If you analyze the table, you would see that there’s nothing here that would explain the “unlimited 10 BTC” reward mentioned on the site. 10 BTC is basically just the sum of all the BTC rewards for the different loyalty point levels. Aggregating them to come up with the 10 BTC figure does not make sense. Based on the table, once you reach 1 million loyalty points (which means you have already wagered 1,000 BTC), you will only be getting 3 BTC as your reward. To get the 10 BTC reward, you still need more than 2,333,333 of loyalty points.
The rewards are not given as cryptocurrencies sent to your wallet. Instead, they are just given in the form of free bets. To claim them, youi have to order any bet that you like through the Flexible Odds option for betting. Enter the payout/email address that you use to get the loyalty points. Then, click on the Apply VIP Reward button at the bottom part of the Bet Status page.
Loyalty points earned from betting using different currencies cannot be combined. Also, their balances cannot be carried over to the next month. The loyalty point figures routinely reset month after month. Your loyalty points reset to zero on the first day of each month even if they have not been converted to rewards yet.
The FREE Bets are exclusive to Bitcointalk members. There are many opportunities for getting these free bets. Just check out the page about this promo on this link.
We will be discussing the affiliate program in the next section of this DirectBet review to avoid confusion.
DirectBet Affiliate Program
DirectBet’s affiliate program offers up to 1% share of all the bets placed by players you refer to the site, regardless of whether they won or lost on their bets. DirectBet is taking pride of this generous offer, even bragging that you can’t find anything similar or better than this in the industry. We have to admit that we have not encountered an online casino or bitcoin gambling site that offers something similar to this.
To avail of the referral earnings, you just have to make player referrals through the following link https://www.directbet.eu?AffiliateID=YourBitcoinAddress. Of course, the YourBitcoinAddress part needs to be changed based on the bitcoin wallet address you use. DirectBet has also prepared affiliate banners for those who want to use them on their sites, blogs, or forum signatures.
The affiliate commission rate will not immediately bet set at 1%. It will start at 0.3%. You will only get the 1% rate once 7 of your referrals have made bets of 10 BTC or more individually. That’s a total of at least 70 BTC in combined bets by all referrals.
This referral reward, however, is only applicable to sports betting. It is not available to those who only play casino games, Direct Dice, and All-In Poker Flips.
The commissions earned can be withdrawn anytime. You just have to contact DirectBet (via the online form at the Support page).
Is DirectBet Really the Safest Sports Betting Site?
This DirectBet review does not have adequate basis to agree that this site is indeed the safest place for sports betting. However, we acknowledge that DirectBet’s policy of not requiring deposits from players to be able to play is something that ensures that players take control of their bitcoins and are themselves responsible for the security of their bitcoins. All transactions, from making deposits (essentially, the act of paying for the bets) to taking withdrawals, are not subjected to some form of unilaterally managed and secured system except for the duration of bets, which is usually within an hour. Transactions rely on the security system of bitcoin itself. We can’t really say that this kind of setup is the safest but at the very least those who are very cautious in securing their bitcoin wallets are unlikely to suffer from theft.
Moreover, this kind of system ensures players that in case DirectBet goes bankrupt or if something happens that causes the cessation of DirectBet’s operation, no bitcoins will be forfeited. If there would be any, it will be a very minimal amount, that is the bet placed for a particular game within an hour.
DirectBet’s Guarantee of Privacy and Security
For DirectBet, having a forum dedicated to DirectBet at the independent BitcoinTalk forum is something that should assure players. If there are problems or rumors of problems to be encountered, players will easily know. DirectBet cares about its reputation so it can’t just allow itself to be ruined because of the failure to ensure player privacy and security.
For those who are keen on ensuring their anonymity, it should be obvious that there’s nothing to worry about. DirectBet does not require personal information and identification documents from players. There is even no account registration requirement to be able to pay. All bitcoin transactions are guaranteed to be anonymous. It only takes confirmation within 3 blocks for payouts to be completed.
Customer Support via Email and Forum
Unfortunately, DirectBet only provides customer support via email and on the Bitcointalk forum. The email address is [email protected] but you can also go to the Support page to find the online form so you can just send your questions, concerns, or request for assistance right within the DirectBet website, without having to open your email.
United States and International Players Accepted
Considering the nature of the online gambling operations of DirectBet, it’s safe to say that all players, from the United States to Europe and other parts of the world, are accepted on this bitcoin gambling site. There are no restrictions imposed although there is also no clear indication on DirectBet’s website that US players are accepted. However, we are inclined to write in this DirectBet review that, just like other online casinos that guarantee complete anonymity especially with the bitcoin transactions, there are no legal impediments for anyone to play on this site.
The DirectBet website, though, is only available in the English language.
Licensing and Regulation
We can’t find authoritative information regarding the online gambling operations licensing and regulation of DirectBet. We only managed to find the owner of the DirectBet trademark: Caesars License Company, LLC. Nevertheless, we are not keen on pointing this out as a deal breaker in this DirectBet review.
Pages Players Should Visit on DirectBet
DirectBet has a comprehensive Rules page that provides virtually everything you need to know about game rules and policies. It also has a section for answers to frequently asked questions so drop by this page as you may already find the answer you are looking for without having to contact the email-only customer support. You can also visit the official Facebook and Twitter accounts of DirectBet for updates or to send questions and complaints.Additionally, there’s a thread on BitcoinTalk where you can share information and thoughts about the site with other players.
