Betkurus Review

Betkurus claims to be the world’s most advanced bitcoin sportsbook. It specializes in in-play betting. This bitcoin gambling site brags of covering thousands of in-play events per month. It also claims that it has the biggest coverage of in-play events among bitcoin sportsbook operators and offers live video streaming for various types of sport. It is not just a sports betting site, though, as it also offers a variety of online casino games.

Before proceeding with this Betkurus review, here’s a little clarification: Betkurus.com and Betkurus365.com are the same site. The former URL redirects to the latter. Betkurus is a legitimate online gambling operation regulated by a government authority so you don’t have to be skeptical about the URL redirection. There’s no attempt to phish, defraud, or mislead here.

Betkurus features everything leading online casinos and sportsbooks offer. It has a multitude of games including live games. It offers a number of bonuses and promotions. It also has a good affiliate program. Unfortunately, it does not serve players in a number of countries including the United States, Hong Kong, and Germany.

Betkurus is a legitimate and regulated online gambling operation that uses bitcoins. It can be argued that it is one of the better online gambling options around although it’s far from perfect. Get to know this gambling site more through our Betkurus review.

Account Registration Process

Signing up for an account with Betkurus is a straightforward process. The online registration form you need to fill out is relatively long but it shouldn’t take a long time completing it. It’s actually a somewhat smart online form that predicts your location so you may already find a suggestion in your address field. Except for the password that requires to have at least one capital letter, this online form is not that meticulous to be annoying.

It may take some time before your account registration gets completed after you click on the Register button so consider giving it a waiting time of around a minute. In our case, we did not receive a registration confirmation email. It’s rather unusual not getting an email regarding the registration but we did get a fully working account. The completion of the registration was only confirmed by a prompt on the registration page.

Account Dashboard and Website

You can go to your account dashboard by clicking on your name on the upper right corner of the Betkurus site. It’s a feature-rich account dashboard that allows you to do edits on your personal details except for your name, ID, birth date, and gender. It also comes with a messaging system. Additionally, it has a self-exclusion function so if you feel like you’re getting too indulged with online gambling, you can compel yourself to stop by activating the self-exclusion function for a period of six months or one year. Be reminded, though, that you will not be allowed to reduce your self exclusion period for seven days. You may only request to cut your self-exclusion duration short after a week.

For the uninitiated, self-exclusion is a self-imposed ban on accessing your account. It’s supposed to be a tool for controlling online gambling addiction. Betkurus’ self-exclusion feature is similar to what other online casinos (that have this feature) have. It’s not that strict but is a good enough reminder that you are supposedly trying to control your excessive online gambling.

The Games on Betkurus

The games on Betkurus are divided in five sections: Live, Sports, Casino, Live Casino, Backgammon, and FinBet.

The Live and Sports sections are basically the same. We like how the game system works. You are presented four columns but only three columns appear on screen at first. The fourth column (or the second based on the order of the columns from left to right) appears once the game is selected. The first column is for the selection of sports available. The second column shows the games under the sports chosen. The third column shows the game details. Lastly, the fourth column is the bet slip.  It’s a highly intuitive sports betting interface. It’s also highly responsive. The entire page does not reload every time you choose a game.

The Casino section, on the other hand, has 217 games. Betkurus presents categories for its games but the games don’t appear to have been properly categorized. Most of the categories shown on the website don’t have games listed under them. For the sake of giving you an overview of the games, though, we will be mentioning some of the games on the site. Most of the games on Betkurus, just like in most other online casinos, are slots. The site has video slots and standard slots. There’s a game search bar but we don’t suggest using it to find a good game to play (if you have not decided on a specific game to play beforehand) since it is mostly title-keyword based and the games have not been tagged or keyword-associated so you will find very few games using the search bar. It would be better to browse through the games manually since there are just over 200 of them anyway. The game gallery takes some time to show the thumbnails but it’s not that long to be irritating.

Game loading time is mostly average. The graphics and aesthetics are comparable to what you can find in most other leading online casinos. The online casino games have their respective Play for Free options so you can try the games out without having to make a real bet yet.

We like the option to use a two-game interface on Betkurus (as shown below). Obviously, you can play two games at the same time with this interface. If you are dexterous enough, you can play two games at a time and make more money, if you’re lucky, within a shorter period of time. This two-game interface can be accessed through the little toggle on the right side of the page.

The “Server Not Found” game above is for the Backgammon game, the only game under the Skills subcategory of the Casino games section. We refreshed it several times but it kept displaying “Server Not Found.”

For the Live Casino section, there are 4 types of live dealer games available. These are Roulette, Baccarat, Poker, and Blackjack. There are 3 games under Roulette, 4 for Blackjack, 2 for Baccarat, and 2 for Poker. The live dealer game thumbnails have their language indicators (Turkish or English).

You can play using play money even on the live dealer games. You can use the TRY currency to test the waters of Betkurus’ live dealer games.

The Backgammon game is the only “Skills” game on Betkurus and it actually can be accessed through the Casino games section. It is essentially a part of the Casino section. However, as shown in the image above, the Backgammon game failed to load at the time we did this Betkurus review.

Lastly, Betkurus has a Finbet section, which offers financial betting games. Unfortunately, at the time we were doing this Betkurus review, we couldn’t get to make the Finbet section load. It kept showing an infinitely rotating “progress circle.” We tried several browsers for this but we couldn’t load any financial betting game.

Betkurus Game Software and Fairness

Betkurus uses its proprietary software for the sportsbook, including the live sports game. As we already mentioned earlier, it offers a good intuitive game interface that is fast and responsive.

For the casino games, there are several online casino game software providers involved. These include Betsoft, Betconstruct, Nextgen Gaming, Amaya, 1X2 Gaming, Elk studios, Zeus, Casino Technology, and IGaming2Go.

Except for the relatively little known Zeus, these game software providers are some of the best or at the very least decent online casino game software providers. Betkurus does not advertise their games as provably fair games but we have no reason in this Betkurus review to doubt their trustworthiness, fairness, or reliability.

Anyway, we also checked out the games supplied by Zeus. We’re glad to report that there’s nothing significant to criticize in them. They’re just like the games from other software providers.

Betkurus Is Mobile-Friendly

Betkurus has a mobile-friendly website. It does not have a mobile app for playing the games on Android or iOS devices but this mobile-friendly website adequately makes up for this lack.

We really like the mobile version of the Betkurus website since it presents a highly simplified view of what you can find on the site. Essentially, there are only two types of games accessible on the site at the time we did this Betkurus review, Sports Betting and Casino, and these are the only game categories being shown on the mobile-friendly site. The confusing addition of other game sections like the separate Live (sports) and Live Casino sections are no longer shown. The mobile-friendly site simplifies the complicated way the games are presented on the desktop version of the site.

Currencies, Deposits, and Withdrawals

The currencies used on Betkurus are US dollar (USD), euro (EUR), bitcoin (BTC), and TRY or play money. You will be asked to set your preferred currency during the registration process. We couldn’t be sure in this Betkurus review if there is an option to add a new currency but it appears there is none. We couldn’t ‘find an Add Currency function on the account dashboard or the Cashier page.

To make deposits, you have a number of options. These include using your bitcoin wallet, bank transfer, AstroPay card, ECO Pay, CEP Bank, and ePro. The footer of the Betkurus website shows Visa and MasterCard logos but we couldn’t find an option in the Deposit interface for making deposits through Visa and MasterCard debit or credit cards.

When it comes to withdrawals, there are only three methods available. These are bitcoins, bank transfer, and ECO Pay.

Making deposits and withdrawals is made quick and easy. You just have to enter the details you want in the fields that appear on the Deposit and Withdrawal pages. It’s worth noting, though, that the labels for the fields in the Deposit and Withdrawal are only shown in Turkish. There are no equivalent English texts.

Betkurus Bonuses and Promotions

Betkurus offers three types of promotions. They are as follows:

• 25% Bitcoin Free Bet. This is actually a 25% deposit bonus. To get this bonus, a minimum deposit of 20 EUR/USD or 10 cBTC is required. This free bet is not going to be credited to your balance. Only the winnings made using this free bet bonus can be transferred to your balance. Wagering requirement: 1.70x within 7 days.
• 50% Sign-Up Bonus of up to 50 EUR/USD or 20 cBTC. This is a deposit bonus that is only granted to newly registered Betkurus players. This bonus can only be used for wagering on sports. To obtain this bonus, you need to send an email to [email protected] within 24 hours from the time the first deposit is made. Wagering requirement: 8x within 30 days.
• 500TL EURO2016. Unfortunately, the details of this promo is only presented in Turkish. We reckon it’s a bonus intended only for Turkish players.
• 15% Neteller Bonus. If you make deposits through Neteller, you can get a 15% deposit bonus every time a deposit is made. It requires a minimum deposit of 100 EUR/USD. You need to send an email to [email protected] to obtain this bonus. Wagering requirement: 6X within a month.
• Up to 30% Cashback. This is given for losses at the casino games during the first 15 days of playing on Betkurus. This is not automatically given to players. You need to send an email to [email protected] to avail of this promotion. You get a cashback of 20% if you made a net loss of 200 to 500 USD/EUR, 25% for a net loss of 500 to 1,000 USD/EUR, and 30% for more than 1,000 USD/EUR. There is no wagering requirement.

For completing the bonus wagering requirements, the following games listed under the following categories are NOT qualified: Virtual Sports, Live Dealer (casino) games, Live (sports) games, and Table Games.

It has the following registered address: Ecommercepark Vredenberg, Curacao, Dutch Caribbean. The online gambling operations of this site are under the regulation of the Government of Curacao.

To ensure the security of player accounts and transactions, Betkurus claims that it undertakes continuous security checks. There is no information about the encryption it uses but we are inclined to presume that the player accounts and transactions are properly secured since Betkurus is a licensed and regulated online gambling operation.

We are a little confused about the policy of Betkurus regarding anonymity. The site does not mention that it is vital to verify an account (sending an identity proof document through the Verification section of the account dashboard). However, it is stated under the Terms and Conditions that player account information should not be false. If you want to play anonymously, you may want to use different names and less than truthful personal details. These would constitute a violation of the terms and conditions, though, and may merit the cancellation of your account and the balance you have with it. That’s why we are more inclined to state in this Betkurus review that this site does not support anonymous online gambling.
