Mars Casino Review

A registered and licensed online casino, Mars Casino is a relatively new online gambling site that supports the use of bitcoins. It carries the tag line “Casino for humans by Martians,” which does not make a lot of sense but maintains a theme that may appeal to some online gamblers.  It claims to offer more than 500 games (as indicated on its homepage) but the actual number in the game collection is significantly lower. Still, Mars Casino is a promising bitcoin gambling destination with a wide variety of provably fair games, a good deal of promotions, and  more than the usual features.

Before anything else, we have to say we’re a bit unsure about how Mars Casino is being marketed. Somehow, it’s slightly being silly. It is labeled as the “1st casino on Mars” and it claims to offer “winnings bigger than the international space station can carry.” That’s why we can’t help being skeptic about the other claims of the site like its “1,000,000+ players”, and its being safe, secure and reliable. What’s unquestionable about Mars Casino, though, is that it is a licensed and registered online gambling operation.

Account Registration

Getting a Mars Casino account is quick and easy. You just have to fill out the registration form that only asks for your email address, username, password, and preferred currency. Once you’re done entering your details and submitting the form, you will be asked to verify your email address. This shouldn’t take long as the email from Mars Casino will have arrived in your inbox almost instantaneously. Click the Confirm Account button you receive regarding your account registration and you can proceed to your account. You will be automatically logged into your account as you click on the Confirm Account button.

Mars Casino User Interface and Site Languages

The Mars Casino user interface is simple but elegant and intuitive. If you have already tried playing in other online casinos before, it should be easy finding your way around the Mars Casino interface. If you go to the My Account page (link is near the upper right corner of the site), you will find the following tabs: Balance, History, Bonuses, Affiliate, Profile Info, Gambling Limits, and Documents. What these tabs represent are already quite obvious except maybe for the Gambling Limits and Documents tabs.

Gambling Limits is where you can voluntarily impose limitations on your online gambling. You can set deposit limits, loss limits, and wager limits. You may also initiate a Cooling Off Period, which prevents you from making a deposit and excludes you from all promotional offers of the casino. The Cooling Off period can be for a week, a month, 3 months, or 6 months. If you decide to prematurely end the cooling off period, you will have to wait for 7 days before you can use your account normally again.

There’s also an option to enable a Self-Exclusion period, wherein you will be completely prevented from accessing your account. It can be for 6 months, 9 months, or a year. What makes the Self-Exclusion period different from the Cooling Off period is that you will not be allowed to cut it short. You cannot request to be allowed to enter your account again unless the period you indicated lapses. That’s why you need to make sure that you have already completed all of your deposits and withdrawals before deciding to initiate self-exclusion.

The Documents tab, on the other hand, is where you will be uploading documents that will be asked by Mars Casino to verify your identity.

Mars Casino Games

As mentioned in the introductory part of this Mars Casino review, the actual number of games on the site is significantly fewer than the “over 500” touted on the homepage. We found only 187 in our manual count. These games can be viewed according to their developer or according to the following categories: Slots, Roulette, Live, Jackpot, and Other.

• Similar to other online bitcoin casinos, the slots games are the most common in the Mars Casino game collection. We found 144 of them at the time we did this review.
• The Roulette category had 7 games including 4 live roulette games.
• The Live games category features 8 games, which are mainly live blackjack, baccarat, and roulette games.

Interestingly, Mars Casino has a separate category for BTC games. Apparently, not all of the games in its collection supports bitcoin payments. If you want to play using BTCs, your options are limited to the games listed under the BTC Games category. There were 177 games  under the BTC Games category at the time we did this review. In other words, almost all of the games support bitcoin payments.

There’s a search bar for the game collection but just like how it works in other BTC gambling sites, this search bar only searches through keywords in the titles of the games. As such, it’s not very useful. If you search for “slots,,” for example, you will only get a few results despite the fact that more than 77% of the games on the site are slots. The search function does not return results based on game category or type.

Nevertheless, Mars Casino has a “Feeling Lucky” button, which is pretty much similar to the “I’m Feeling Lucky” feature of Google. Click on this button to randomly select a game to play. Clicking on this button automatically takes you to the interface of a random game.

In terms of game loading time, the games on Mars Casino are around average and can sometimes be slow, especially for games that have excellent graphics. The games on Mars Casino have good to great graphics.

The games also have their respective Play for Fun and Play with Real Money versions. As such, we can consider Mars Casino a free bitcoin casino. You can enjoy the games on the site for free, but of course that also means you can’t win the real money prizes if you don’t wager with real money.

Mars Casino Software and Game Fairness

The games on Mars Casino are from a number of online casino game providers. These include Amatic, Betsoft, SoftSwiss, Ezugi, Endorphina, and Netent. Many of the games on Mars Casino require Flash so if you are using browsers that no longer support it (example: Chrome), you may need to purposely install Flash or just use other browsers.

On its About Us page, Mars Casino says that its games are provably fair. There is supposedly a provability widget on the site. However, at the time we did this review, we couldn’t find this widget for testing the fairness of the games. We are still considering Mars Casino as a provably fair online casino, though. Like most other newly launched online casinos, we presume that Mars Casino is still being completed and polished. The provability testing widget will most likely be added later on. Besides, this online gambling site has a page devoted to presenting details abouts its being provably fair, offering information on the random number generator and shuffling methods used in the different types of games.

Mars Casino Is Mobile-Friendly

This bitcoin accepting gambling site is mobile-friendly. It employs a responsive web design. The site automatically adjusts the content and layout depending on the display size of the device used to access it. Also, the full screen versions of the games adapt to the size of the device. It should be easy navigating through the site using your smartphone or tablet.
