Eclipse Casino stands out for having one of the most distinctive and better looking online casino homepages. Its not-your-typical casino front page, showing navigation buttons in an uncommon layout, looks refreshing that it creates a good first impression. However, once you explore it deeper, you may end up feeling like it’s not as good as you thought it would be. It seems the effort put on the entirety of the site isn’t comparable to the enthusiasm put behind the homepage

Eclipse Casino is a Curacao registered and operated an online casino. With over a hundred traditional casino games, it claims to offer better odds as compared to land-based casinos. This gambling site aims to provide the “best, most secure, and fair online casino gambling experience” for players in different parts of the world. It provides two options for playing: through a desktop client (Windows only) or through a browser (web-based, no need to install anything). It also offers promotions and bonuses that are mostly similar to what other online casinos offer, as well as a VIP and rewards program for all real money players.

Signing Up for an Account

You can quickly sign up for an account if you choose the option to download the Eclipse Casino client and install it on your computer. If you go with the web-based or browser-based playing option, though, you will not easily find a Sign-Up or Register button on the site. The closest to a Sign-Up button you can find on the site is the Play Now button near the upper right corner of the site. We initially thought Eclipse Casino does not accept new account registrations at the time we did this review. We only found out later on that you can proceed to sign up for an account by clicking the Play for the Real button on the game interface. To do this, you have to go to a game (any game) first so you can find the Play for Fun and Play for Real options. If you choose Play for Fun, you will proceed to immediately play the game. If you choose Play for Real, you will have to go through an account registration form.

The account registration form is relatively long. It asks for your first and last names, username, password, email address, birth date, and detailed address. You also have to select the currency for your account and nominate a pair of secret question and answer. The process may take around a minute. There is no email verification step to undertake so you can immediately proceed to log in to your account after you complete the registration.

Eclipse Casino User Interface and Site Languages

Note: This review focuses on the web-based interface of Eclipse Casino so we will not be discussing the interface of the casino’s desktop client.

The Eclipse Casino user interface is okay although we would have preferred if it weren’t like a modal window (a window within the browser window). This is just our preference but it would be better if the different pages of the user interface (Profile, Cashier, History, Games, etc) had their respective pages with separate URLs, similar to how it goes with most other online casinos. For example, you might get confused as you open the Cashier interface/section because it’s not too obvious that it’s a modal window on top of a modal window. You may not easily realize that you have to close the Cashier section first (by clicking on the X on it) if you want to click on the other buttons you see on screen. We were wondering why the rest of the interface suddenly became inactive or unclickable. It was only after we closed the Cashier section that they became clickable again.

There’s a chat box on the right side but it does not seem to be working.

The session timeout for the Eclipse Casino interface is quite long or there may be none. You won’t get automatically logged out after leaving the interface idle for several minutes. That’s why you have to make sure that you log out or at least close the tab/window to make sure nobody gets to access your account without permission. Logging out, by the way, is also a chore. We couldn’t find a log out button. It seems to completely log out, you need to close your browser and erase the cookies.

The Eclipse Casino website can be viewed in two languages: English and French. The language toggle is near the upper left corner of the website.

At the time we did this Eclipse Casino review, we found 175 games.  These games are presented in a long grid in the Games page but you can view them according to their category, which is as follows: I-Slots, Table Games, Video Poker, Speciality Games, 3-Reel Slots, and Video Slots.

• The I-Slots category had 23 games with titles such as Cirque Du Slots, Panda Party, As the Reels Turn, Bowled Over, Cosmic Quest, Heavyweight Gold, and Reel Crime.
• The Table Games category featured 12 games namely, Caribbean Stud Poker, Three-Card Poker, Baccarat, Blackjack, Blackjack-Multihand, Casino Battle, Craps, Pai Gow, Red Dog, Ride ‘em Poker, Roulette-American, and Roulette-European.
• Under the Video Poker category, there were 7 games. These were Aces and Faces, Deuces and Joker, Deuces Wild, Double Joker, Jacks or Better, Joker Poker, and Tens or Better.
• The Specialty Games category listed 3 games: Keno, Sudoku Box Game, and Vegas Jackpot Keno.
• The 3-Reel Slots category had 29 games, which included titles such as Diamond Cherries, Dollars to Donuts, MegaWins, Midas Touch, Big Cash Win, Costume Party, Eggstravaganza, and Fantastic Fruit.
• Lastly, the Video Slots category had the most number games, 84, which included titles such as Catsino, Aussie Rules, Alien Spinvasion, Chariots of Fire, Diamond Dragon, Frogged, Ice Picks, Golden Gorilla, Rise of Poseidon, Star Jewels, Ten Suns, and Thunderbird.

All games come with Play for Fun and Play for Real versions. As such, we can consider Eclipse Casino as a free bitcoin casino.

Game loading time is nothing to write home about. It’s not the fastest among other online casinos but it’s also far from being the slowest.

Eclipse Casino Software and Game Fairness

The games featured on Eclipse Casino are from Rival, the same game software that is also used by top-rating online casinos such as Slots.lv and Ignition Casino. If you are familiar with casino software, the existence of client-based and web-based gaming options should be hint enough.

There are only two options for making deposits on the web-based Eclipse Casino interface. These are through credit card and by converting COMP points. Whether or not a bonus can be combined with another is a little confusing so it would be better to clarify this before you start availing of any bonus. Never take a bonus without clarifying the terms and be sure that you can complete the wagering requirements. Otherwise, you will just make it difficult for you to withdraw your money.

In addition to these bonuses, Eclipse Casino also has an affiliate marketing program. This program, however, requires you to sign up for an account in a separate website. This separate website is the same website for the affiliate program of Golden Lion Casino and Bovegas Casino.
