A licensed gambling site, BoVegas appears to be one of those online casinos with decent offerings. Based on first impressions, you likely will not think that it is a haphazardly put out online casino. The site looks good except that there are some inconsistencies in the texts or details presented on the site (more on this later). It is mobile-friendly. It accepts players from most parts of the world, including the United States. The games on BoVegas, however, are not provably fair. Anonymous playing is also not allowed.

Account Registration

Signing up for a BoVegas account was a bit confusing in our experience. Clicking on the Sign-Up button led us to a new tab or window where the “Lobby” page of BoVegas opens. Instead of showing an account registration form, we were shown the casino’s “Lobby,” which is not that functionally different from the homepage. Initially, we thought the Login and Sign-Up buttons in the “Lobby” were broken/malfunctioning because they were not responding after we clicked on them repeatedly. We had to refresh the page a few times before they worked. We found out that if you encounter this problem, you can just directly click on a game, wait for the game interface to open, and click on the “Play for Real” button on it to display the login and Signup buttons. It appears the Sign-Up button on the game interface is more reliable.

The account registration process involves three forms you need to fill out. The first one asks for your personal details including your email address and the username and password you want to use for your account. The second form is for your address. The last form is for your birthdate and contact details (mobile phone number).

Once you’re done filling out and submitting the forms, a login modal window will be displayed. There’s no more email verification required to be able to log in to your account. However, you will be asked to verify your account once you enter the Cashier section. It’s a bit baffling that you will find a message on the Cashier section that seems to presume that an email verification link was sent to you earlier. Just ignore this and click on the orange Verify Email button so you can proceed with the email verification.

BoVegas User Interface and Site Languages

We’re not sure if it’s just our internet connection that’s creating issues but the BoVegas user interface (which heavily relies on modal windows) seems to be not so responsive. There are times when clicking buttons do not result in any response. On the first time we tried exploring the Cashier section, it took us several tries before finally opening the Cashier interface (in a modal window).

BoVegas does not have a profile page. There’s only a Cashier interface which has tabs for Deposits, Withdrawals, Coupons, and account transactions. We couldn’t find the page where personal details can be edited, which is a little curious considering that BoVegas has a policy of terminating accounts that are found to have inaccurate or misleading personal details. There’s also no section for submitting proofs of identity. We’re not sure how BoVegas verifies the identity of its players.

BoVegas has a relatively short session timeout. Expect to be automatically logged out of your account if you leave the tab or window where BoVegas is opened after a short minute or so.

The BoVegas website can be viewed in English and French texts. The language toggle is on the upper right corner of the site.

The Games on BoVegas

There were 189 games on BoVegas at the time we did this review. They can be viewed according to the following categories: Slots, Table Games, Video Poker, and Specialties.

  • As usual, the Slots category had the most number of games. We found 140 games in this category while doing this BoVegas review.
  • The Table Games category listed 21 games including baccarat, blackjack, roulette, craps, pai gow, pontoon, red dog, and varieties of poker games.
  • The Video Poker category, on the other hand, had 17 games including Aces & Eights, All American Poker, Deuces Wild, 7 Stud Poker, Bonus Poker, European Slot Poker, Jacks or Better, and Joker Poker.

The games all have their respective Play for Fun and Play for Real options. As such we can consider BoVegas as a free bitcoin casino. You can play the games without having to make a real money bet. You will not find a Play for Fun button on the game interface, though. You will be playing the Fun version by default. If you want to make real money wagers, you have to click on the Play for the Real button on the upper left corner of the game interface.

BoVegas does not have the fastest game loading time among other similar online casinos but it’s not that slow to be frustrating. Game graphics are good and modern-looking.

BoVegas Software and Game Fairness

Unfortunately, the games on BoVegas are not provably fair. However, BoVegas claims that they make use a reliable Random Number Generator (RNG) that guarantee truly random results.

The games on BoVegas require Flash, which is no longer widely supported by most major web browsers. You may have to install or activate Flash in your browser to play the games. It’s not that much of an issue although it would have been preferable if the games were created with HTML5 technology. If you notice performance issues while playing the games in Instant Play (the browser-based version of BoVegas), we suggest you switch to the client-based version (the version that requires you to download and install the client on your computer). The desktop version, though, is only available for Windows devices.

BoVegas Is Mobile-Friendly

The BoVegas website appears to be using a responsive web design. It automatically adjusts its layout and the amount of content it shows according to the display size of the device used to access it. It does not have a mobile app but the website should be good enough. The only issue is the use of Flash for the games. If your mobile device does not support Flash, you cannot play the games on BoVegas.

Currencies Accepted, Deposits, and Withdrawals

The default currency used on BoVegas is euro (EUR) but you can make bitcoin (BTC) deposits.

Based on the details shown on the Cashier interface of the account we reviewed, deposits can be made through credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and American Express), deposits by phone, deposits via live chat help, and of course bitcoins. Just click on the appropriate button on the Cashier interface for the type of deposit you want to make. Also, check out the bonuses you can avail on the right side of the Deposit tab.

Minimum deposit amount required for credit card deposits is 25 EUR while the maximum is 1,000 EUR. For bitcoins, the minimum deposit amount is the equivalent of 25 EUR.

The Terms and Conditions page of BoVegas, however, lists more options for making deposits and withdrawals. They are as follows:

Bonuses, Promotions, Player Rewards, and Affiliate Program

It appears BoVegas does not have fixed bonuses. We found several details about bonuses being offered on different pages of the casino, which are not comprehensively presented on the Promotions page of the site. If you want to avail of bonuses, it is advisable to click on the Promotions button (near the upper right corner of the site, when you have already logged in) to see the bonuses you can actually get.

Note: There are different “Promotions” pages before and after you log in to your BoVegas account.

Some of the bonuses you may get are as follows:

  • Up to 220% Slots Match Bonus. The bonus you can get depends on the amount you deposit, For a 25 EUR deposit, you get 110% + 15 spins. For 50 EUR, the bonus is 140% + 25 spins. For 150 EUR and higher, the bonus is 220% + 50 spins. Wagering requirement is 30x of the sum of the deposit and the bonus.
  • Up to 120% Cards Match Bonus. Similar to the slots match bonus, the percentage of the bonus depends on the amount deposited. A 25 EUR deposit gets an 80% match bonus, while 75 EUR gets 100% and 150 EUR gets 120%. The wagering requirement for this bonus is 35x.
  • 50% Cash Back. This is referred to as a “free bonus” for slots and card games. The wagering requirement is 40x for slots and 45x for cards. There are no details as to how this bonus can be availed so be sure to contact support if you want to get this bonus.
  • 250% Slots Match, No Max Cashout. This is a bonus shown on the Promotions page (before logging in). It supposedly can be claimed by clicking on the Claim button on it but we couldn’t find this bonus when we logged in.
  • 300% Slots Match, No Max Cashout. This is similar to the 250$ Slots Match. This bonus may have already been discontinued when we did this review.
  • 100% Cash Back on Deposit 100 USD and Up. This was a bonus we encountered on the welcome message when we logged in.
  • Comp Points. The BoVegas Terms and Conditions page mentions a Comp Points system wherein 1 Comp Point is granted for a wager of 10 EUR. The accumulated Comp Points can then be redeemed for real money at an exchange rate of 1 EUR: 100 Comp Points.

Again, what’s listed above are merely a sampling of the bonuses you can get on BoVegas. You may not be able to avail of all of these bonuses or their terms may change over time. You can only get the bonuses that are shown in the Promotions page (after logging in) of the casino’s interface or the bonuses listed on the Deposit tab of the Cashier interface.

Country Restrictions

BoVegas accepts players from different parts of the world except for those who are in Belarus, Costa Rica, India, Israel, Poland, and Ukraine. Players from Azerbaijan, on the other hand, are not allowed to make use of the free chips from BoVegas.

Players from the United States are accepted. BoVegas is a US-accepted bitcoin casino. However, just like other online casinos, only players who are of legal age are allowed to play. Also, it is deemed the responsibility of players to make sure that there are no laws in their respective countries or jurisdictions that prohibit online gambling.

Not an Anonymous Online Casino

If you are looking for an online casino where you can play anonymously with your bitcoins, BoVegas is unfortunately not the place for you. This online casino requires its players to submit real personal details. Players who are found to have been using false or misleading personal details will have their accounts terminated. Various documents that can serve as proofs of identity may be asked from players. Even you intend to use only bitcoins, you will not be exempted from the standard identity verification.

BoVegas License, Regulation, and Security

BoVegas is a licensed bitcoin casino. It is licensed and regulated in Curacao, Netherlands Antilles. It is a legal provider of internet gambling services as far as the relevant laws of the Gaming Ordinance of Curacao is concerned.

BoVegas claims to employ the “most ultimate and unrivalled methods to maintain and secure clients’ sensitive and personal data.” The site uses “industry standard security protocols” which include 256-bit SSL encryption. The site also has a relatively short session timeout. Be idle for a short minute and you will be automatically logged out. BoVegas, however, does not provide the option to enable two-factor authentication or other methods of securing accounts.

BoVegas Player Support

If you want to contact BoVegas Casino for inquiries, complaints, or other concerns, you can do so through email, telephone, or live chat. You can send an email to [email protected]. To contact them by telephone, there are three toll-free numbers you can use: +1 347 778 0761 (United States), +33 186 650 356 (France), and +44 203 432 3540 (United Kingdom). The live chat facility can be accessed through the persistent live chat button on the lower right corner of the site. Support is available 24/7. Before you contact support, though, consider going over the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page (link is on the footer part of the site) first.
